Alvaro Gimenez’s research has been focused in the understanding of the internal structure of the stars through the analysis of eclipsing binaries. Previously, he was Head of the Science Department in the Science directorate, but he was Director for 7 years, until the beginning of this year. Before that, he was also general director of INTA, director of the Center of Astrobiology and Professor of Research of the CSIC.
